pepper gun

Pepper spray guns are less-lethal self-defense weapons that are common among law enforcement and military personnel. They are relatively safe and do not require much training to use, but it is important that you know how to handle them properly when using them.

Form Factor & Size: There are several different types of pepper sprays on the market, from one-ounce keychain models to two-ounce canisters that have a range of up to 15 feet. They can all be used in personal defense or home protection, but it is best to find the right one that is suitable for your needs and available in the correct form factor.

Shape & Payload: The shape of a pepper spray projectile may vary from product to product but most will be spheres, with the irritant payload either a liquid or powder. The irritant is usually capsaicin, although some companies offer other irritants as their payloads.

Capsaicin is a derivative of cayenne pepper that causes temporary blindness and an excruciating burning sensation in the eyes, mouth, and skin that incapacitates attackers and prevents them from continuing to pursue you or your property. It can also cause damage to the respiratory system and lungs, which could lead to heart problems and death if not treated in time.

In the United States, pepper sprays are legal as a self-defense weapon, but each state has its own laws that govern their use. Some states prohibit the possession of pepper spray for any purpose other than self-defense, while others allow it only when it is used for a specific reason like apprehending an assailant or to stop an attack.

Some states allow pepper spray to be carried in carry-on luggage on planes and in airports, while other restrictions may apply. For example, in some places you can’t carry it with you on a bus or train and federal buildings require you to leave it at home before entering.

Most states require you to wear a helmet if you are carrying a pepper spray, as it can be injurious to the head and throat. In addition, if the product you are using contains tear gas, it is illegal to use it while riding a bike or on public transportation.

If you are going to wear a helmet with a pepper spray, make sure the strap is strong and doesn’t loosen too easily. A weak or loose strap can let the pepper spray slide out of your hand and into your attacker’s face.

It’s also important to make sure that the pepper spray doesn’t leak. This is a common problem with most pepper sprays and can be avoided by keeping the canister in a secure holster when not in use.

The holster that comes with most pepper sprays should be big enough to hold the canister, but small enough so you can still fit it in your pocket or purse without it being too bulky. If you’re not able to find a holster that fits the canister, consider investing in a holster made specifically for pepper sprays.
